What’s better than thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail? Nothing really, but getting to talk about hiking the trail and reliving the memories I made during my 2018 thru-hike is a close second. Since completing my first PCT thru-hike at the end of September, I’ve had the privilege of getting to talk about my hike publicly twice – once was to four different high school classes in October and the second was when I hosted the How I Hiked The Pacific Crest Trail event at Athleta University Village on January 13th.

I wanted to give a big shout out to all of the 50 attendees who came to my first event at Athleta. It was amazing to share some of my favorite moments on the trail, introduce the crowd to some of the people I met along the way and share the lessons I learned as I made my way up to Canada. At the end of the event, I had a raffle featuring incredible prizes from Osprey Packs, Darn Tough Socks, the Pacific Crest Trail Association, Beecher’s Cheese, Pro Bars and Lua Tees. From the raffle, I was able to raise $200 to donate to the Pacific Crest Trail Association. I learned MANY lessons thru-hiking the PCT and one of them was recognizing the importance of giving back. It felt good to be able to give a cash donation to a non-profit organization that does so much for the trail I love.

Following the success of my event in January, I’ve been asked to host TWO MORE events here in Seattle before leaving at the beginning of April to thru-hike the PCT again. Both events will be during the month of March:

Event #1:

Lady Power Shop Hour at Athleta University Village, Seattle

Friday, March 8th, 6PM to 8PM

On Friday, March 8th– International Women’s Day – I’ll be hosting my second event with Athleta. You’re invited to join me for Lady Power Shop Hour at the Athleta University Village store. Stop by to learn how to pick out the right clothing and layers to wear that will help you stay warm, cool and comfortable on trail. I’ll also have all of my gear on display from my 2018 PCT thru-hike as well as gear I use for all of my day hikes here around the PNW. Come with all of your gear-related questions. I’m happy to help!

All attendees will receive a special, exclusive discount on all of their purchases during the event. Attendees will also be entered in a raffle to win a complete hiking outfit, similar to what I wore hiking the PCT.

Event #2:

Hike the Pacific Crest Trail – A Conversation with Kathleen Neves at The Collective, Downtown Seattle

Thursday, March 28th, 5:30PM to 8:30PM

On Thursday, March 28th– six days before I hop on a plane and fly down to San Diego to start my second PCT thru-hike – I’ll be hosting my first event with Wilderwomen. This time, I’ll be talking about hiking the Washington portion of the PCT, whether it be a long distance thru-hike, section hike, weekend backpacking trip or day hike. The Washington section of the PCT is accessible to anyone however they choose to hike it. Come learn about PCT hiking basics for your next adventure – trip planning, permits, gear, essential items, safety precautions, local resources and easy access points to the trail here in Washington.

Following the presentation will be an amazing raffle featuring items donated by Osprey Packs, Salomon, Sawyer Water Filters, Athleta, Washington Trails Association, Beecher’s Cheese, Corepower Yoga and 8oz Burger. Raffle tickets are available for purchase when you RSVP online and will also be available for purchase at the night of the event. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Washington Trails Association and Wilderwomen.

Thank you to all of you – my family, friends and followers, both in-person and online for continuing to support me through my thru-hiking endeavors, whether it’s while I’m on trail hiking or off trail talking about hiking. I couldn’t do any of this without all of your love and support. Hope to see you at either one or both of these events!
